Welcome to Gemstone Collective — a creative world shaped by a lifelong fascination with rocks, minerals, and natural phenomena. Inspiration moves in a continual cycle between exploring the natural world and creating with natural elements. It is shaped by wandering, collecting, and returning home with pockets full of inspiration.
Gemstone Collective isn’t your usual ‘crystal store’. The offerings are always changing, shaped by what I am able to collect at different times throughout the year. I hand-collect crystals wherever possible and am mindful of keeping my impact on the environment as minimal as I can. I hold a Miner’s Right, which permits me to dig for crystals in approved areas using hand tools only, and on a very small scale. When collecting, I do so with deep respect for the land and for all the creatures that call the bush their home.
Many of the materials I work with are hand-gathered — crystals, driftwood, hag stones, seed pods — small offerings from the land that feel ready to be worked with. Each is chosen not for perfection, but for character; for the marks left by water, wind, and years of becoming. Gathering these materials is a peaceful and inspiring process, and the crystals I find are often imperfect in the most beautiful ways.
When I create, I work slowly and intentionally, making one-of-a-kind adornments for both the body and the home. I allow the materials and processes to guide the final form — weaving and knotting with thread, forging shapes from raw metals, and flowing with the ancient, fluid process known as lost wax casting.
I hope to create artful objects that inspire a sense of grounding, curiosity, and quiet connection. Pieces that invite conversation, and that act as talismans to which the holder can bring their own meaning.
I currently create the majority of my work in a sunny studio on the Mornington Peninsula. I acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land, the Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation, on which this work takes place. I extend this acknowledgement to the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia as I continue to explore this land. I pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and to Elders past and present, and recognise the ongoing connection to, and care for, lands, waters, and communities.
Gemstone Collective continues to grow and evolve over time, and I’m grateful to have you here, following along as it does.
